[Nate Cage]
[Pride of Wales]
[The Rumpus Room]
[June 20 2018]
[We don't shag sheep]

[Nate is sitting in a room never before seen in Heaven's Den. There are pinball machines, arcade cabinets, and a huge LED TV that is showing a game from 2002 where Wales beat Italy 2-1]

Italy? My great-grandmother came to the UK from Italy during the war. And to see what her homeland has become makes me sick. Carlos Rosso, you’re representing a nation that is holding wrestling back, while we strive for the future. The British wrestling scene is thriving, I know, I helped get it there. So why Wales? Why not England? Well, my aforementioned great grandmother married a man by the name of William Jones when she arrived here, a proud Welshman. That union between nations forged my bloodline, it is who I am. And now I am waving that Welsh flag proudly. We gave the world Tom Jones, Anthony Hopkins, Ivor Novello, and now Nate Cage. Carlos, Italy is a shell of its former self. You have a government run by imbeciles, hell, you’re not even good at football anymore, it’s a crying shame.

The OWA World Cup is about more than just national pride, it’s about showing the world that you represent the very best your country has to offer. I look at a man like Carlos Rosso, a man who lost his triumphant debut here, a man who couldn’t topple me and my pack last week, and I wonder why he thinks he stands a chance at progressing. I have the might of the Welsh Guards behind me, the toughest bastards in the British Army. A nation of soldiers, of warriors. You will come to fear the dragon, Carlos, as the flames from its mouth engulf your body and burn you to a crisp. The idea of the inaugural OWA World Cup going to you sickens me. What have you done of any note here? I’m not concerned with your extra curricular activities. You’re not just facing the most dangerous individual in the OWA, you’re not just facing a champion, you’re facing the entire great nation of Wales. And when all is said and done, I will steamroll over my own ancestral home just to put an end to you.

I could have chosen to represent Italy as well, you know, but I didn’t because why the fuck would I want to? I’d be the laughing stock of the OWA, just like you are now. I promise that your ending will be swift, because I pity you too much to watch you suffer. I hope you’ve had a real big bowl of spaghetti, Carlos, maybe I’ll help myself to a nice bit of rarebit. All I know is that the only thing to come out of your country that anyone these days gives a shit about is Mario, a Japanese creation voiced by an American. Pathetic.

2006 was so long ago.

-sigh-

Italy has fallen on hard times. Their leadership is in shambles. Their football is not very good. But, however, all is not lost. You see, with someone like me representing Italy, things are bound to turn around. Just like Italy I have seen the most difficult of times. I have gone through dark periods without glory. Nate Cage, much like the country he represents has done very little where it counts. I don't see many championships to his name, nor do I see many in Wales's ledger. Their best World Cup performance.....the quarterfinals?

That has been equaled by teams like Senegal, South Korea (who even surpassed it), and the UNITED STATES. Maybe they should be like Scotland and not just show up for the World Cup at all for decades. An absolute eyesore.

Wales has not been to the World Cup since 1958, which is probably the same amount of time Nate Cage has had his lips attached to Kenny Drake's ass.

Italy, like myself, is a multiple-time World Champion. Italy, like myself, knows what it means to struggle only to rebound and emerge stronger and more radiant than ever. And, much like everyone who goes against Wales in World Cup Qualifying, I know what it's like to win. And I will win this World Cup contest for myself, for the beautiful, vibrant people of Italia, and to prove to Cage and the world that people from Wales fuck sheep and the only Welshman of any use is Garreth Bale. With skill, flair, ruthlessness and the occasional flop if necessary, I will do whatever it takes to bring glory to myself and restore dignity and honor to one of the greatest countries in the history of the world!

ITALIA....ICHIBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN

Promoing as Koji Soo-Don:

Ha... Is there any nation more beautiful than South Korea? The fresh air, the wind in the trees. The pride of a nation who has fought an unwavering war for so long and has still managed to stay prosperous.

Good luck, Scott. America is about to feel the exact same disappointment it felt after they couldn't win against Costa Rica.

'Murica! The land of the free and the home of Scott Oasis: the premiere athlete in the world. Matter of fact, not just the premiere athlete, but the premiere MAN of the world! Want to deny it? Look at me! You have a fighter, a businessman and a movement creator all wrapped in one! I am what every man strives to be! When people look at me, they see a person who influences the world. They see the talk of the town. They see someone who serves as a standard for them all to follow! And just HOW did all of this....my status, my accomplishments, my strength, my money.....come about? Through the culture of the U.S.A. of course! Criticize the country all you want, say we're greedy, selfish, mean, a dog eat dog society - CRY ME A RIVER! That's what makes winners! That's what makes us NUMBER ONE! The harshness, the violence, none of those other pussy countries could have ever provided me with the environment to turn me into the man I am today. America not only encourages, but it forces you to step up. All of those technology dependent geeks and Mountain Dew sucking fatasses you paint us out to be are the scrubs who get left to die. Only the best survive in America and that is why I am PROUD to represent the country in the World Cup as it is the superpower among the rest of the softies that litter this planet. In fact, it is much like the Big Oasis Brand in how it sticks out; a brand that embodies the American Dream might I add. The BOB and the USA are about to sweep this cup and the crab lover Kofi Su-Yung or whatever his name is from South Korea is not going to be the one to prove me otherwise. I'm about to walk all of the way to the finals just like I'll be walking to the bank when I take home that winner's check. Americans, rest easy in knowing that this Cup will be a lock for us and that the celebratory pounding my wife is set to receive will be dedicated to you. Drink to it boys.

*Hunter is skating down Venice Beach, headphones in, presumably listening to K-Pop, he stops outside Hot Topic, where he eyes one of his old SSP shirts in the window, he lets out a cheeky smile.*

Heh, you know bro, I wanted to join my boy Koji in repping the greatest country in the world, South Korea, but the OWA brass wouldn’t accept my expired work visa as a form of citizenship! But hey-oh, it is what it is! I got the next best thing, the Philippines! My parents were hard-working Filipino immigrants who came to America in search of their dreams! And they did just that! They became business successes and taught me the value of being grateful for what you’ve got. I love them and that work ethic passed on to me! The Filipino blood that runs through my veins has got me to where I am today. I may have made my name elsewhere, but the old country will never leave my heart…in fact…

*Smash cut, Hunter is suddenly in the Philippines, inexplicably standing in the exact same pose and wearing the same outfit. It was probably a somewhat flamboyant way of proving his point.*

Well, here I am! The village you see behind me is where mama and papa Goodwin met and fell in love. Three months before I was born, they would leave their humble beginnings for pastures anew, but we’ve never truly forgot who we are!

*Hunter is joined by two people who appear to be his parents.*

Yup, you caught us during family vacation! When we heard about the OWA World Cup, we knew that we’d have to go to our own backyard! What is there to say about Vanessa Santiago? Uhh, well I can’t say I know her too well. But she seems like a cool chick! Cuba, huh? They export a lot of sugar, right? I like sugar! Maybe too much! In my soda, in my cake, hell, I’d be so fat if I didn’t hit the gym and execute those mad flips in the ring bruh! Stop tryna make me all fat and shit, Cuba! *Hunter chuckles*

Vanessa, not gonna lie, I’m not into this whole hurling insults at your place of origin, totally not cool! Cubans work hard just like us! A lot of gnarly stuff has gone down over there and that’s a shame. Maybe once all this is over, we can hit the skatepark and hang out at the arcade! But until then, I’ll give you every bit of the heart of Hunter Goodwin. I’ve fought through pain and heartbreak and it’s never kept me down before, so bear that in mind when you try to take me on! Ha!

*Hunter cartwheels out of frame, leaving his parents to look a little confused*

Both of them in unison: Who was that guy?

I.
(Vanessa Santiago)

No, you're not seeing things. Your eyes aren't deceiving you, as weird as this whole visual might be. The interesting thing is, when I say that, I don't know if I'm referring to the fact that I'm involved in anything OWA sanctioned, or the fact that Cuba is taking part in one of these...global showcase athletic event things. It's already enough of a miracle that my country takes part in the Olympics, and even that seems to be too long of a prolonged moment in the spotlight for a country that seems to have taken up residence in the shadows. It wasn't always that way, though. Don't worry, this won't be a pro-Castro rant lacking self-awareness. For a long time, Cuba was just some banana republic that was a playground for wealthy Americans on vacation and sailors on leave. The idea that it could be a socialist paradise with all the inequalities wiped out probably sounded amazing, in theory. But the vision didn't last. Now, the disparities didn't exist, because everyone was poor and struggling. Freedom took a backseat was the dictatorship rose up -- and Cuba became a pariah on the world's stage because of it. Being the only communist country in the western hemisphere isn't exactly a badge of honor. I feel like my people are in need of things to take pride in. Something that isn't boxing or baseball, anyway. This is where I come in. Here, in this competition of the best from all around the world, I'll shine a positive light on the country I was born in.

Hunter, you seem...nice enough. Generally, I find myself not being able to completely embrace the incredibly smiley, overly happy-go-lucky types, but we've found common ground in the regard that I'm not the type to blindly hurl insults either. I'm big on mutual respect, really, and since you've given it, you'll get it. Perhaps it's the odd sense of relatability that comes with hailing from a former Spanish colony? Who knows. Everything about our countries is rooted in perseverance, in a desire to be free. The cultures we both hail from have made it their business to power through heartbreak, and you've said that's a strength of yours -- but that isn't what this was about. Those who are unsuccessful in winning this tournament shouldn't be so ashamed of themselves shouldn't equate the feeling with heartbreak. This is a simple showcase, but it doesn't mean that I want to win any less. As I said before, I feel that Cuba has sort of gotten a bad wrap. In the looming shadows of the selfish people in power are strong, hardworking common people who deserve the chance to see that someone just like them can do something great. No matter what you bring to the table, no matter how hard you try, I will be the one to do that for them. For once, we'll shine. I'll make sure of that.

(Aria Jaxon)

Listen here, Yung Stick Boi. I'ma ask you this one time, and one time only. I'm tryna be nice here, so this is outta character for me.

You want all the smoke? Do you really? Are you sure? I get it, you might be a little confused as to what's going on here, so I should let you know, there's no good will here. This won't be anything like the rescue mission Canada had to undertake to save y'all from getting bombed to dust by Hitler's boys in World War II.

Sidebar, I'm supposed to be worried about someone whose country had to rely on fucking CANADA to get them out of a tough spot? Nah. Fuck out my face.

But look, historically Finny boy, this shouldn't end well for you. You're the latest model coming off the line of a legacy of colonizers who got their tea dumped in the harbor. Honestly, the tea-flavored salt water in Boston Harbor probably tasted better than hot tea. Iced tea takes the cake every time. Fight me over it.

The days of England running the world are long over. I'd say you guys passed the baton to the United States a long time ago, but it was more like we pried it from your hands forcibly and you never could chase us down to take it back from us. You've been nipping at our heels for what seems like forever now, and this loss on your part will be just another instance people can cite in that pattern. The truth is that I probably do embody American values in the most stereotypical sense. I'm loud, brash, arrogant, entitled, all of that. Call me all those things and more. But after our match, I'll also be called a winner.

How the fuck can a Triple Threat match work in football? Should it be better if we have five matches in this second fixture instead?

We go now LIVE to OWA World Cup Founder and President, Ricke Marrs:

Hey there, Ricke Marrs here...fuckin...

Anyway, a couple of things.

1. It's not football. It's wrestling. That's how it works. Stupid.
2. Five matches this round? Then next round has a triple threat. If not then, the final. Stupid.

In conclusion, shut the fuck up and just finish the fuckin' tournament, yeah? Stupid.

Fuckin' Iceland...Fuckin' Iceland...
