Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - 8.5/10

My personal favorite of the Indiana Jones films. Raiders is the overall superior film but Crusade's story, humor and character development of Indy makes me come back to it just a little bit more. Not to mention, Sean Connery as Indy's dad is absolutely amazing and he's got such a genuine chemistry with Harrison Ford that it makes me just absolutely LOVE their father-son dynamic with one another.
A man after my own heart. Last Crusade is brilliant.

Little Man (this is a Wayans brothers film btw, any other film called "Little Man" besides this effort will be excluded from this review) 3.0/10

Besides the fact that this movie isn't exactly plausible to happen in any way shape or form. It'd be alright if there wasn't a bunch of poop gags, dumb humour and maybe the occasional weird joke that caught a chuckle from me.

This movie was Wayans brothers personified, a tale more for idiocy than in actual message. And it had Tracy Morgan in it, fuck that guy. Honestly, fuck Tracy fucking Morgan.

Olympus has fallen

6.5/10

I actually enjoyed this tbh --- it managed to keep my interest throughout and hook me in at certain points, even if it was one of those 'bad it's good' kind of films. Was an entertaining watch

Finally saw Black Panther

8/10

Loved BP, loved his sister and the family dynamic, loved the setting of Wakanda. Action was great, effects were super cool. When M’Baku and the Gorilla tribe came out through that tunnel, my white ass shat my pants.

Only thing I didn’t really dig, and I’m gonna catch flack for this, was MBJ. He was a great Killmonger, don’t get me wrong, but the way he’d deliver some lines, I’d just be like “was THAT the best take?” But I think of that more as film school ruining movies for me. I can’t just watch a performance anymore, I have to break it down now...

Also, I REALLY fuckin wish someone told me that yelling “ALL HAIL KING KILLMONGER” and saying “Killmonger was Right!” BEFORE I saw the movie was a Bad idea...didn’t know I was essentially saying “kill all white people.” That being said...Killmonger was right.

Solo: A Star Wars Story 7/10

Pros:
Alden and Childish Gambino are fantastic and feel like Han and Lando.
Chewie gets a substantial role and his relationship with Han is organic and heartwarming.
Character interactions throughout are playful and evoke the spirit of Star Wars.
Neat appearance from a certain character.

Cons:
Screenplay is pretty sprawling.
Emilia Clarke's more robotic than the actual robots.
Plays it safe for the most part.
Paul Bettany and Thandie Newton are wasted.

Avengers: Infinity War

9/10

Only because I cried several times during the movie and that's not okay with me. Overall the movie was amazing and leaves it open to wonder and wait unless you've followed the comics 100%.

2001: A Space Odyssey 10/10

My all-time favourite film since I was 16, but this was the first time seeing it on the big screen. Was certainly an incredible thing to witness.

Early release in some markets to avoid competition with the World Cup.

Hereditary

There is no score that can quantify what this film put me through. I feel wrong.

Ocean's Eight 8/10

Terrific fun and has the same charm as the Soderbergh trilogy.

Mindhorn 8/10

Utterly surreal but genuinely funny indie comedy that slipped under the radar last year.

Sicario 2: Soldado 7.75/10

A worthy sequel to the masterful original. Just lacked the subtle touches that made the first one a modern classic. Very gung ho Americana.

To sum it up in one word: Disappointing.

Incredibles 2 - 8/10.

Obviously not as good as the first but man it was still fantastic. I am mostly just happy that they finally, after alllll these years, they made the sequel. I was smiling like a little kid throughout most of it. Amazing movie and one of my favourites of the year thus far.

Solo: A star wars movie: 3.9/10

Maybe I'm being too harsh on this, but this was just like 'bleh'. Felt like it was done for the sake of being done too and couldn't really get invested into it.

8 Mile, 8/10 (Ironically)

Eminem, despite not being an actor, delivers a tour de force in what is basically his biopic. The story is pretty touching despite being vulgar and corrupted in nature. My only problem is that the antagonists (the leaders of the free world) are hyped up as these badass wordsmith only to just get bodied at the end by Rabbit.

Great movie, fun moments, some rushed action/plot sequences, but it was what I was expecting overall.
